I’m a huge fan of compelling storytelling; however, as you know, it can be a challenge to find edifying entertainment. So when I first saw the television series The Chosen, I was blown away by the beautiful artistry that didn’t compromise on biblical accuracy.

The Chosen is a critically acclaimed drama that gives the viewer an intimate view of Jesus through the eyes of those who knew him. This series was immediately welcomed and loved by Christian community, and I truly believe the production and storytelling is on par with mainstream entertainment – enough so that it can captivate those who do not yet know Jesus as their Saviour.

That’s why Focus on the Family Canada was proud to sponsor YES TV as they brought The Chosen to nearly seven million unique subscribers – reaching 70 per cent of English Canada households. From October 7 to December 30, subscribers in Alberta (Edmonton and Calgary) and Ontario (Toronto, Ottawa and Hamilton) got the chance to experience episodes from the first three seasons of The Chosen; that means seven million people had the chance to see the story of Jesus! We saw a record-breaking number of mobile downloads in November – a 25 per cent increase from the previous month and the highest number we’ve seen yet.
