It’s hard to believe we’re already in September – kids are starting their school year, young adults are heading to university, and all the usual fall traditions are slowly beginning.

Susan and my kids are busy with their studies, as I know many others are as well. However, it’s also a great time to add some faith-building entertainment to our kids’ repertoire. I can always trust that the content from Focus on the Family Canada is biblically sound and will strengthen our children’s relationship with Christ.

With all that in mind, we’re excited to showcase a huge variety of faith-building resources. Here are a few selections I’d love to tell you about, which would be great for the kids and youth in your life.

Kids

Thanks for the Little Things and Sleepyhead Prayer (2-book set) – Ages 1+
Lead little ones in their very first prayers with these charming rhyming board books that help youngsters give thanks to God for everyday blessings, and end their day with a sweet bedtime prayer.

The Berenstain Bears School Days Collection – Ages 4+
Head back to school with the Berenstain Bears! With stories about starting school, new students, rumours and gossip, and settling disagreements, this treasury is perfect for children beginning a new school year or right in the middle of one.

I Am Rooted – Ages 9+
If you are looking for a way to help your son or daughter develop a solid devotional life and a heart of thankfulness, look no further! Written by a Canadian author, this interactive 12-week daily devotional and gratitude journal covers three foundational truths: God loves, God helps, God guides.

Tweens/Teens

Daily Wisdom for Teen Guys – Teen guys 13+
With an engaging devotion and related Scripture selection for every day of the year, Daily Wisdom for Teen Guys is written especially for teens ages 13 and up. Spend daily quiet time with God and experience encouragement and faith-building inspiration as you come to know and understand that God loves and cares about you – no matter what!

Not Part of the Plan – Teen girls 15+
The authors open up their lives in the most raw and relatable way, sharing their own journeys through unexpected seasons of infertility, singleness, loss and heartbreak. But in the midst of it all, they’ve learned that true hope doesn’t come from getting the life you always dreamed of but from trusting God with the life he has for you and believing his plans truly are good.

Every Hidden Thing – 12+
Every Hidden Thing is the second book in the High Water series. It blends contemporary mystery and suspense, dramatic situations, and high adventure that 12- to 15-year-old boys and girls will love.

In addition to these selections, I invite you to check out our full range of fall and winter resources for kids and teens. I’m certain you’ll find something that’ll build the faith and speak to the heart of that special young person in your life.
