Dear friends of Focus on the Family Canada,

After serving faithfully at Focus on the Family Canada for over 23 years and as president for the past 16 years, Terence Rolston has decided to step down and is leaving the ministry. His last day will be January 1, 2021.

We who served alongside Terence on the Board of Directors knew this day would come and while we are sad to see him leave, we couldn’t be more grateful for the leadership that Terence has provided to Focus Canada these past 16 years.

Terence’s decision to leave Focus is one he made after much consideration and prayer. This is what he believes God is asking him to do. He will not immediately be taking on new responsibilities or moving to a new position but is choosing rather to take time to pause and wait on the Lord for his leading.

In sharing his decision with us, Terence expressed how much he has valued his time at Focus on the Family Canada:

“For both Joyce and me, this was a difficult decision and we are deeply saddened to say goodbye, but we are also on a journey of surrender to God and we are placing our trust in him for what lies ahead. We have treasured our time at Focus on the Family and we treasure the relationships we have formed across Canada and around the world. We will hold on to our many memories and experiences as we move forward and will remain continually grateful for the relationships that have been formed for eternity. Leaving is not easy, but I leave grateful that the organization is strong, the team and Board are united, there is an interim president in place to provide leadership and that God is at work, meeting the needs of Canadian families through this wonderful ministry.”

We support Terence in his decision and know that God will lead and guide him and his wife, Joyce, as they seek his will for their future. Please join with us in praying for God’s care, provision, leading and blessing for Terence, his wife, Joyce, and his family.

Terry Jones is chairman of Focus on the Family Canada's Board of Directors.
