How to Drug Proof Your Kids^®

How To Drug Proof Your Kids^® (DPYK) equips parents to help their children make safe and smart decisions about drugs, alcohol and tobacco products. Available in Canadian communities since 2002, the six-session DPYK Parent Programs aim to help parents understand drug culture today and learn how to develop effective strategies to steer their kids away from the harmful use of drugs.

Volunteer facilitators – usually parents, pastors, addictions workers, counsellors, police officers and other community members – lead the six-session Parent Programs.

First developed in Australia, DPYK has been scrutinized by more than 30 professionals in the education, health, counselling and drug treatment fields. Since its inception, DPYK has been duplicated in Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France and South Africa.
