PARENTING PKS
The 10 Commandments for Parenting PKs:
- We need as much or more time from our parents as the rest of the people in the congregation.
- We don’t want to be held responsible for our parents’ reputations.
- We don’t want to always be your sermon examples - if you need the odd one, be sure to ask for our permission.
- We don’t want to hear about problem people or problem situations in the church. Talk about that stuff in private so that it doesn't taint our views of church.
- We don’t want to feel like we have to serve in the church just because we are the pastor’s kids.
- We don’t want to be held to a higher standard than any other kids in our church.
- We don’t want to be seen as the exemplary kids; we just want to be normal.
- We want to be loved for the individuals we are.
- We want to be prayed for as kids, not PKs.
- We want to be taught as kids, not PKs.
