It seems every day, families have more and more options for entertainment. While this can be great, it’s also tough to find time to vet each option, to decide whether it will build me up or bring me down. As a father of two teenage daughters, I’m increasingly aware the same is true for our younger generation.

That’s why I’m thankful for the resources specifically created by Focus on the Family. For more than 40 years, Focus has been a name families can trust. That includes being a source of entertainment and education for the whole family. I can rest assured that the content is biblically sound and will strengthen my relationship with Christ.

Here are a few of my favourite selections to recommend for your family, all of which carry the Focus on the Family brand:

The Imagination Station #32: Courage at the Castle
When kids step into the Imagination Station, they travel back in time and across the world with cousins Patrick and Beth. Each book is historically accurate, and readers will grow in their faith and knowledge of big historical events as they race through each unforgettable story. This really is a different kind of adventure for cousins Patrick and Beth. After visiting the USSR in the 1960s to help a Swedish pastor smuggle Bibles to believers in Russia, the cousins are swept away to 15th-century England to learn how the English Bible even came to be – and the real costs it would take to make that possibility a reality.

Finding the Extra in Ordinary
Most people settle for an ordinary existence – a predictable schedule, easily attainable goals, reasonable expectations. While there’s comfort in the ordinary, there’s also the risk of getting stuck in a life that lacks meaning, purpose and joy. And God doesn’t want you to get stuck – especially when he has so much more for you! In this book, Jeff Simmons explores the extraordinary stories of people from all walks of life who have managed to transform their ordinary lives into something truly remarkable. From everyday people to celebrities, entrepreneurs and sports stars, Simmons captures the inspiring stories of those who have found the extra in ordinary.
